Welcome to Hempshill Hall Primary School

It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to our school website. We hope that this will be the beginning of a happy and productive partnership in educating your child and thank you for showing interest in our school.

Hempshill Hall is a school that puts the interest and needs of its children first. As a team of staff we strive to do all we possibly can to encourage all of our pupils to fulfil their true potential and develop a lifelong love of learning.

We want our children to learn and flourish in an environment where they are inspired to take on greater and greater challenges, building upon successes and confidently learning from mistakes.

Our school celebrates individual achievement and high standards of behaviour and learning are maintained to ensure that every child makes substantial progress during their time with us.

We are an Outstanding School!

OFSTED inspected our school in March 2015. They judged us to be outstanding in every aspect.

Commitment, responsibility and respect are at the very heart of our ethos.

We would like to share the rationale for a joint Headship and how this will work in practice. Both of us are experienced and committed teachers and feel that maintaining a teaching role has huge benefits for understanding the needs of the school. We will both be in school full time from September. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Karen Gregg will be Headteacher and on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Sally Dakin will be Headteacher. We will continue to teach in the classroom for the other 2 days. As you will notice, we are both taking the role on Wednesdays and we will use this day for school development. The school has now nearly 500 pupils and we feel that sharing the leadership will provide a very strong management team. We are very much looking forward to taking on the role of joint Headteacher.

We are delighted that Ruth Bond has been successfully appointed as the new Assistant Head. Ruth has been an active member of the senior leadership team for several years.
